Thomas I. Piero, age 83, of Canton died Sunday evening following a brief illness. A life resident of Canton he was the son of the late Irvin & Esther (Moegling) Piero. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, veteran of the U.S. Army, a former owner of the family business Piero Sunoco and worked many years for Jackson Bailey Electric & Ragon Electric. Tom was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic minister, a coordinator of the St. Joan of Arc R.C.I.A. Process and coached youth football for several area Catholic grade schools. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son: Thomas Piero. He is survived by his wife of 60 blessed years: Judith (Prager) Piero of the home; sons: Robert Piero, John (Cristal) Piero, James (Karen) Piero, Paul (Gina) Piero, Joseph (Traci) Piero; daughters: Mary Barbara (Douglas) Carey, Mary Rose Bruder, Mary Jane (Michael) Boron; brothers David (Judith) Piero, Robert (Suanne) Piero; sisters: JoAnne Weber, Margaret Wallis; 19 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Mass of Christian burial will be Friday at 10 am in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with Fr. G. David Weikart as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday evening from 5 to 8 pm in the Wackerly Funeral Home. Donations may be made in his name to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
